School Administrators no friends of the Columbia.

We have tried very hard and repeatedly of late to obtain some chairs and other theater equipment from the High School to benifit the Columbia. At first we were told that they could allow us no access due to State laws saying that all school property had to be auctioned by Ms. Broughton.. A lie....it is allready being sold. She then told us that allthough several people had told us they wrote the school asking that the seats they paid to have redone be donated to the Columbia. Ms. Broughton denied hearing from them.

It seems that no matter how much we support the schools, they are going to do absolutely nothing to help our area except keep holding their hands out for more and more.

Someday after all debt is paid off, I would like to make the Columbia not for profit and use all funds to make the city a better place for our youth......the School administration should practice caring about the youth as well as the rest of the Community. They will need us again.

Screw us once, shame on you----Twice, shame on us.

Please do not bid against us at the auction and pass the word along.......thanx!

We have tried very hard to place Portsmouths past in the Columbia. There are parts from the Old hospitals, the Laroy, the old homes that were torn down, the old grant school and a host of others. Having our cities history in the theater is more of what we are after than just acquiring equipment. It means so much more! Thanks for the input though. We have enough to open.
